What You Need to Know About Making a RAISE the BAR PLEDGE?

WHAT DOES IT COST?

​

Nothing. There is no cost associated with the PLEDGE.  USCCE is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving athlete experiences in sport through better coaching education, coach development and coach support.

WHO SHOULD TAKE THE PLEDGE?

​

ANY organization that recruits, organizes, hires, educates or works with coaches, paid or volunteer and who shares a passion for programs that are athlete centered and designed to provide a safe, developmentally appropriate, fun sport experience for athletes.

WHO SHOULD COMPLETE THE FORM?

​

Ideally, the individual in your organization who is responsible for recruiting, hiring, organizing, educating and/or scheduling coaches should complete the Pledge.  However, the application can be completed by anyone familiar with your organization.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?

​

Once you have all your materials, it will just take about 15 minutes to complete the easy on line organizational pledge form.

WHAT INFORMATION IS NEEDED TO COMPLETE THE PLEDGE?

​

  1. The name of the background check system is used to screen your youth sport coaches (e.g., NCSI, SSCI)

  2. The URL link to your organization's 'Coaching Code of Conduct'.

  3. The URL link to your organization's 'Anti-bullying/ anti hazing/anti harassment policy'.

  4. The URL link to your organization's mission statement and mission description.

  5. An estimation of the number of coaches (paid and volunteer) and athletes under the age of 18 within your organization.

  6. The name and contact information for the individual responsible for working with the coaches in your organization.

WHAT IF OUR ORGANIZATION ISN'T SURE IF WE HAVE THE RIGHT MATERIALS TO TAKE THE PLEDGE?

Go ahead and fill out the application! 

 

The USCCE is committed to helping organizations who are committed to better sport through better coaching efforts.  All applications will be reviewed by the USCCE and feedback will be provided if needed, on steps organizations can take to support the RAISE the BAR initiative.

WE COMPLETED THE PLEDGE APPLICATION, WHAT NEXT?

​

After an organization submits their pledge application, the USCCE will review the submitted materials.

 

Organizations with complete applications will receive:

 

  • The RAISE the BAR pledge badge to put on their organizational materials

  • Acknowledgement on the USCCE's 'Look who has PLEDGED' page

  • A ready to go press release highlighting your organizations commitment to RAISE the BAR

  • Ongoing coaching education and coach development support through USCCE newsletters.
